Former COO of Paypal David Sacks has returned from a successful dabble in hollywood where he produced Thank You for Smoking) a Golden Globe Nominee. Sacks' new venture is a family tree website called Geni - hardly a new concept since it has been done at One Great Family with over 190 million unique entries and by the Mormans at Ancestry with a staggering 5 billion names.

Geni has some serious competition there and it will be interesting to see how it goes. I really like the user interface which is very straight forward and logical, there are minimal barriers to entry and you don't get confused by a mass of information. It appears that they have been getting a serious amount of interest at the moment and are adding several new servers to handle the load.

Worth keeping an eye on this one.
